You need to book it as soon us possible especially for those who want to get married in the most famous churches, chapels or cathedrals. For us, we might consider a Christian wedding. NOTE: Other Churches/Parishes may require some other documents and/or seminars not specified below. To be sure, inquire at the parish office of the church you wish to be married in.

1. Baptismal and Confirmation Certificates: These relates to both the bride's and the groom's. These must be new copies and must have an annotation: "FOR MARRIAGE PURPOSES ONLY" and must have been secured not more than three (3) months before the date of marriage.

2. Marriage License: This can be secured from the city or municipality hall where either the bride or the groom currently resides.
For those who are civilly married, a certified true photocopy of the Marriage Contract with the registry number of the city or town where the marriage was performed must be submitted one week before the wedding date.

3. Canonical Interview: This interview with the bride and the groom will be done one month before the wedding date and will be conducted by the parish priest or his assistant. The schedule of the interview will be given upon the signing of the application form. Failure to report on the interview date or failure to notify the office of any change in the schedule will mean cancellation of the application and reservation of the church for the upcoming wedding.

4. Pre-Marriage Seminar: Both the bride and the groom have to attend this. The schedule for the seminar will be given during the canonical interview or you may inquire at the parish office. Some churches may allow attendance in other pre-wedding seminars such as the Catholic Engaged Encounter (CEE) or Discovery Weekend (DW) as a suitable substitute (if you have already attended either one of these, inquire at the parish office if they recognize either CEE or DW in lieu of their Pre-Marriage Seminar.)

5. Permission from bride's parish: a permit from the parish of the bride-to-be must be secured and presented to the parish office of the couple's chosen ceremony venue. The form will be provided by the parish office of your chosen church.

6. Marriage Banns: These will be provided during the canonical interview and have to be immediately brought to the respective parishes of the bride and the groom for posting. These have to be returned to the office after three Sundays. (Note: the respective parishes may ask some requirements for the posting of the banns [i.e. a ID picture from the bride and the groom])

7. List of names and addresses of principal sponsors (Ninongs & Ninangs): This has to be submitted to the parish office one week before the wedding date. Church policy requires at least a pair of sponsors and, ideally, a maximum of six sponsors.

The Engagement & The Ring

So happy to come up with a new blog! Inspired by the latest happenings in my life. Hopefully i get readers here. I know it's not that easy to capture the reader's heart but I will try my best to blog and share topics about weddings. But of course before i rave about wedding preparations. Let's talk about Engagement.
Now let's start...

Engagement. How many of you experience this special and unforgettable moment? Lucky you!
What is Engagement? As per wikipedia, It is a promise to marry, and also the period of time between proposal and marriage. During this period, a couple is said to be betrothed, affianced, engaged to be married, or simply engaged. Future brides and grooms may be called the betrothed, a wife-to-be or husband-to-be, fiancée or fiancé, respectively.

Some people won't believe it. Once, a friend told me "hindi na uso yun" but i just kept quiet and at back of my mind, no it's not and I believe someday it will happen to me. Hello! "Maarte na kung maarte" but girls should have standards. It doesn't matter also where and how it will happen as long as your boyfriend sincerely proposes to you. Of course, if there's engagement, there should be a ring! riiiingggg!!! no not the telephone sound. but a "ring" <3

The engagement ring symbolizes love and fidelity a couple shares. The ring remains constant on a woman’s hand even after the wedding and girls should wear it together with the wedding band. There's a lot of engagement rings designs but i prefer simple with one stone because i want my wedding band to have 3-5 stones. Good thing my boyfriend gave me a one stone e-ring.

Well how did the proposal happen? It's just a simple dinner last March 21, 2013 at one of the cozy restaurant in Singapore. An overlooking place in Mount Faber called The Jewel Box. It is one of the most unforgettable day in my life. Yes! I won't get teary eyed anymore if i get to watch proposal videos in youtube and TV. LOL Thank you so much for my handsome date that night. He made me feel that I'm the most beautiful girl forever. Though he said that i don't have any reaction while he's proposing. No, I'm just speechless, but deep in my heart i'm so happy, delighted, overjoyed, overwhelmed and thankful that fairy tales do come true.

This is it!
